For this assignment, you will select a psychological question from the list provided and critically evaluate the topic based upon three psychological perspectives. Numerous psychological perspectives were introduced in Chapter 1 of the textbook and continued to be discussed throughout the coursework. To be successful in this assignment, you will need to conduct additional research on each psychological perspective and your chosen topic. The assignment should demonstrate your understanding of the theoretical foundations of each psychological perspective and your ability to critically evaluate each perspective as applied to your topic. This assignment should demonstrate your highest quality work with great attention to detail and justification for your analysis.

Psychological Question: Select one question from this list to address on your Signature Assignment. You will evaluate the topic from three different psychological perspectives. Critically evaluate how each perspective would explain, describe, or approach the study the topic.
What is the origin of addiction? (drugs, gambling, shopping, screen time ect.)
What is the origin of psychological disorders?
How does social media affect our mental health?
In what ways could a violent video game impact your well-being?
How does screen time affect health and wellness?
What influences gender identity?
What influences sexual orientation?

What influences personality development?
Perspective Description: After selecting a question to evaluate, you are required to choose 3 perspectives that explain the opposing views of your issue. Each perspective should be described thoroughly, including its associated assumptions. Describe the psychological perspective is sufficient detail that someone unfamiliar with the perspective will understand its theoretical foundation. In addition, discuss how each perspective would explain or evaluate the psychological topic/question you chose. Each description should be at least one paragraph long (6-8 sentences). This section will require research beyond the use of the textbook. Your research should include scholarly, peer reviewed, or CPCC library resources. Include citations for outside resources used to describe each perspective.The perspectives include:

Neuropsychology and Behavior Genetics
Evolutionary
Justification of Best Perspective: After describing three psychological perspectives and how each would approach the psychological question that you have chosen, next you will select ONE of the perspectives as the best perspective to explain the topic. This will require you to understand each perspective and utilize your critical thinking skills to analyze/evaluate the information. You will thoroughly defend the perspective as the most accurate, again using the textbook and outside resources. You may need to conduct additional research to support your analysis. The justification should be at least one paragraph long (6-8 sentences).
Justification of Weaker Perspectives: Describe thoroughly why the other two psychological perspectives are weaker choices to explain the psychological question. Again, this will require you to understand each perspective and utilize your critical thinking skills to analyze/evaluate the information. You will thoroughly defend the perspectives as the weaker. Use the textbook and outside resources to question the authorities and researchers in these perspectives. You may need to conduct additional research to support your analysis. The justification for this section should be at least one paragraph long (6-8 sentences).
Your Voice: After completing the main portions of the assignment, you will create  a final paragraph for the “Your Voice” section. This is an informal paragraph describing your individual view, opinion, and what you learned from this assignment. Did you enjoy the assignment? Did you learn anything about yourself or others? Did you encounter any difficulties with the assignment? How will this information help you in the future? Are there any issues you would like included on the list? You may include any other thoughts and/or feedback to the instructor.
