GOVT 2350: Reflection Paper Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to allow you an opportunity to reflect on a topic in this course that you may be particularly drawn to or wish to analyze further. Using the information you have learned throughout this course, you will select from a list of provided topical questions.
These questions touch on topics that have been discussed in class. Then, you will write a 3-page reflection paper that thoroughly answers the question, as well as incorporates one of HBU’s “Faith and Reason Pillars”.
Instructions: Select from one of the 4 provided question topics below; thoroughly answer the questions. Then, select the pillars provided and compare and contrast the selected pillar in response to your question.
Questions: Choose 1 of the following questions and provide a thorough reflection.
1. How has technology affected the practice of criminal justice in America during the past century? How has it affected the criminal law?
2. Why do criminal laws have to change to keep up with changes in technology? What modifications in current laws defining criminal activity might soon be necessary to meet the criminal possibilities inherent in new technology?
3. What threats to individual rights might advance technology create? Will our standards as to what constitutes admissible evidence, what is reasonable privacy, and so on undergoes a significant reevaluation as a result of emerging technologies?
