1 Mini Assignment
You will find a dataset in excel titled “Data – Healthy Eating on Campus.” You will also find the questionnaire that was used to gather the data titled “Survey – Healthy Eating on Campus.” Use these files to answer the question below.
 
Choose a nominal or ordinal variable and a variable at the interval or ratio level that you think might be related in some way.
State a null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis about this suspected relationship. [If you are not comfortable stating these hypotheses then just tell me what you think the relationship is – describe it.]
Convert the interval or ratio level variable into an ordinal level measure. You should have no more than three levels of the converted variable. 
Run the appropriate descriptive statistics for the two variables.
Discuss the results of the chi-square test. This section should be at least two paragraphs. Remember to include:
Did you reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis?
Interpret the results (i.e., what do the results mean). Please provide a detailed interpretation of the results.
What conclusions can you draw?
What would you tell the organisation to do or not do based on your results (i.e., the College)?
2 MINI ASSIGNMENT
Please use the ” 2 Mini Assignment Data – ANOVA” dataset found in the attached files.
Please present the Lardon wine tasting data to proprietor Darrin Raines. The following sections are required:
Present appropriate descriptive statistics for each variable in the dataset.
Choose a variable that contains 3+ groups as well as a variable that you will use to compare those groups.
Develop a null and alternative hypothesis related to the groups/variable. Please write the hypotheses in sentence format (not mathematical format).
Conduct an ANOVA to compare the groups. Interpret the results of the ANOVA.
What should Darrin take away from your findings? That is, what do the results mean for the proprietor?
NOTE – In the wine tasting scenario, each subject tasted four wines (names and prices are listed). Subjects scored each wine on a scale from 0 to 100. You will see the expert’s score at the bottom.

Question 1
A recent study compared the time spent watching TV per day by marital status. Develop a hypothesis about TV watching and marital status. Use the five-step hypothesis-testing procedure to test your hypothesis. Don’t forget to draw conclusions based on the findings. Use the dataset found in Week 12.
 
Question 2
The Rocky Mountain district sales manager of Rath Publishing, Inc., a college textbook publishing company, claims that the sales representatives make an average of 40 sales calls, per week, to professors. Several reps say that this estimate is too low. To investigate, a random sample of 28 sales representatives reveals that the mean number of calls made last week was 42. The standard deviation of the sample is 2.2 calls. Can we conclude that the mean number of calls per salesperson per week is more than 40? Choose an appropriate significance level.
 
Question 3
The Municipal government recently granted funds for a special programme designed to reduce crime in high-crime areas. A study of the results of the program in eight high-crimes areas yielded the following results.
