In the Communication Process reading, we see the National Association of Colleges and Employers has found that employers desire good communication skills most in the college graduates they may hire. Moreover, research has shown that introductory communication courses provide important skills necessary for functioning in entry-level jobs, including listening, writing, motivating/persuading, interpersonal skills, informational interviewing, and small-group problem solving. Considering all the above, respond to the following questions:

According to the Perception Process reading, schemata are sets of information based on past experiences and things you know that guide our interaction. We rely on schemata to help us make sense of the world around us. Sometimes schemata become so familiar that we use them as scripts, which prompts mindless communication and can lead us to overlook new information that may need to be incorporated into the schema. 
Choose one of the videos from the Module 2 Study Materials. Answer the following questions about the video:


What past perceptions did you have about the video topic before you watched it?
How have your perceptions changed now that you have watched the video?

After completing the Understanding Small Groups reading, we understand small groups better. We read that there is no set number of members for the ideal small group. A small group requires a minimum of three people (because two people would be a pair or dyad), but the upper range of group size is contingent on the purpose of the group. When groups grow beyond 15 to 20 members, it becomes difficult to consider them a small group based on the previous definition. 
Write about a group experience you have had. Watch the videos in the Study Materials and use them for support while you write.  Answer the following questions:
Reflect upon past group experiences, in school and/or work.

Persuasion is something that you will always be encountering. Whether it be a salesperson trying to sell you a car, an advertisement telling you to buy a product, or a political candidate attempting to win your vote, it is important to be able to look at the logic and reasoning being used.
In this module’s reading, Informative and Persuasive Speaking, we learned about flawed logic and reasoning: fallacies (pages 22 to 26). After completing the reading, respond to the following prompts:
Reflect upon past persuasive speeches/arguments that you have heard. Describe two examples. For each example, explain which fallacies were used. Make sure to refer to the reading in order to support your answer.
