Drug abuse has become one of the most wanted things that distract both the young and the older people in today’s generation. Drug misuse has led to many distractions hindering the growth of many countries’ economy wise. In the United States of America, almost eight million adults suffer from drug abuse and related complications. New Jersey, one of the states in the US, has not been left out either. Drug problems have brought in much suffering and pain amongst the addicted victims because most of them miss out on opportunities. Therefore, the grant proposal will help the state develop drug treatment facilities and programs that people from the state would use to rehabilitate and go back to their daily routine. Also, the grant will help reach out to the government facilities to help implement procedures that are swift and accessible by all people. Due to covid-19, the already started initiative could not continue, and so, the agency needed to think of other alternatives to handle the situation. The first phase of the procedure was to collect the data from the community, which was successful by the beginning of 2020. However, the second phase received hiccups due to covid-19. Therefore, there is the need to get the necessary equipment for data collection to complete the course and ensure that every member in New Jersey gets equal access to drug treatment facilities.

Introduction
The grant proposal is requested to help reach out to hundreds of people that need the drug treatment facilities in the state of New Jersey. The United States of America is one of the many countries that drug abuse has hit. Almost eight million adults are battling drug abuse and related complications. The grant requested will come in handy because it will help finish the program’s final phase, collecting data from the government agencies about their say on drug treatment programs in the state. Part of the money will employ experts and analysts that will help in reading the already collected data to ease comprehension.
Problem narrative
The problem is the issue of the inequality in accessing the drug treatment facilities and other essential services that can help in fighting the problem of drug abuse in the state of New Jersey. This inequality problem needs to be addressed first if the big problem of drug abuse in New Jersey is to be addressed.
Methods and activities
The plan is to go around the communities in the state, asking the people to give their views about the current drug treatment programs. People will state whether or not the current drug facilities are accessible. The assigned individuals will collect data from the government agencies about drug treatment and enforcement. The data collected will work best to describe the effectiveness of the current program. Data collection was to be underway in two phases. The first phases ended in 2020. However, the second one could not complete due to the coronavirus pandemic. When covid-19 hit, the movement of people was banned, so reaching out became a problem. Therefore, there is the need to switch to other means of data collection, and the agency needs to purchase virtual data collection equipment. Another thing that the grant will help with is the increase of staff personnel that will help in data collection and analysis.
Anticipated goal
The goal is to solve the problems of drug treatment in New Jersey by 2022. The agency has estimated the project will take about 51 weeks which adds up to one year. Therefore, come 2022, results about solving the issues related to drug treatment will come to rest in New Jersey.
New Jersey, a state found in the United States of America, is having problems with the number of people that use drugs. The state has hundreds of thousands of people that are in cahoots with drugs, and it has brought menace to the state. America is affected so much because it has recorded approximately eight million adults who suffer from drugs and substance abuse. In addition, there are drug-related conditions that follow as a result of long-term usage. Many Americans who use drugs suffer from mental disorders and other co-current disorders resulting from drug abuse. The neighborhoods and communities in New Jersey are having problems because the drug users distribute it evenly, recruiting new members each day. There are not enough facilities to help people in dire need of help.
As a result of the continued distribution of drugs in New Jersey, some communities in the state are affected more compared to others, and most of these communities are the ones that have a lot of people that do not have equal opportunities to access drug treatment. The facilities and programs set to treat drugs are limited, making peoples’ lives in the state at risk. Hence, the facilities that would help in making a change in the state should not be overlooked. The initiative that has started has way bigger plans about drug treatment because it seeks to understand the law and how it is related to the issue to do with drug treatment programs in the state. In addition, the initiative is bent to understand the issues related to the inequalities of accessing drug treatment and how it would help set this charade behind.
The focus is on getting the grant to complete the initiated project that started in 2019 and was successful with only the first phase. The initiative ended at the beginning of 2020, and it could not continue because the coronavirus pandemic kicked in, so people had to stay back in their houses. It would have continued, but there was a need to stay away from each other because of the rules and regulations placed to contain it. Another thing that made the activity to pause is the cessation of movement. People no longer move from one place to another, making it hard for any data collection to take place. The project initiated in 2019, which was the first phase of the initiative, was looking into collecting data from the communities. The people of the community took part in and gave their views on the available drug treatment programs. The aim was to look into issues that deterred the people of New Jersey from having equal rights in accessing drug treatment. The set team collected data from the community members about how they perceived the current programs of drug treatment. The committee concerned also collected data from the people as they talked about whether or not it is easy to access the drug treatment programs. The initiative did a successful round in the whole state of New Jersey.
The initiative is looking to get a grant of $270000 because there is so much that is pending concerning drug treatment accessibility in New Jersey. After reviewing the thorough expenditure on the budget ahead of the initiative, that sum would help carry out activities of the second phase. The second phase is yet to start with the aid of the grant. The initiative aims to collect data from the relevant authorities and agencies concerned with equal drug treatment for all people in New Jersey. The relevant authorities will give directives about drug treatment and enforcement in the state. Therefore, the next phase aims to focus on the data which will tell whether the current drug treatment programs are accessible to all people in the state. The last phase, which was to be set in 2020, could not set in because covid-19 shook the economy everywhere in the world. The team that was to look into the issue had to stop because there was a lot to look into. The pandemic brought in a lot of hiccups including movement that could not take place unless with caution.
Moreover, the budget the initiative had put in place was interfered with because the activities that were to occur could not because it needed a large sum of money to complete the course. Due to the coronavirus, travel restrictions have made it hard to access different places that people would have accessed before the pandemic. Besides that, social distancing means that the initiatives should look into how it should minimize contact with people as it sets the goals to complete the course. The restrictions on social distancing and the precautions that are there due to the pandemic have forced the initiative to look into a few concerns, involving data collection on the various authorities, which is the main goal of the second phase.
The money requested will be of use in so many ways because the initiative has changed its progression. The initiative needs money to buy the equipment that will facilitate virtual data collection. As mentioned earlier, the pandemic would not let anyone do the random visits as they did before it came. Therefore, money is needed to buys the gadgets that will collect the data needed away from the fields. The initiative also needs to increase the number of experts like data analysts. This means that money will help recruit several people that will help in facilitating the virtual data collection analysis. The initiative needs money that will help in all these, and if the aid does not come in, the initiative would have to dig deeper because it needs to recruit new members that will help facilitate the project. As mentioned earlier, the initiative is incapable because it has been financial wise. All the activities mentioned including getting the equipment for data analysis, employing the data analysis, and other petty cash, would some up to $275000. Therefore, the initiative has placed a humble request to the office in charge to help facilitate the money to get down to business and complete the second phase of the intended course with immediate effect.
It is intended for the second phase to take approximately 51 weeks which sums up to a year. Therefore, the intention is to have the results coming June next year, 2022. The initiative already has the data from the community perspective on the availability of the drug treatment program in New Jersey. The initiative is optimistic that it will have a successful project that will bring positive results, including solving drug treatment and enforcement problems in New Jersey.
